We have received an e-mail from Charlotte and Alex, the daughter and son of Bryan Stout. The full message is set out below.
Dad’s celebration of life will take place on Tuesday 9th May at Darenth Valley Golf Club from 1pm-5pm. My brother Alex and I would be very pleased for as many of his friends to attend, so please could you pass on the details.
The only thing I ask is if people could drop me an email just to confirm they will be coming, so we have an idea of numbers.
As Dad loved a party, we have decided on a celebration, so smart casual would be great.
We look forward to see you on the 9th.
Charlotte and Alex
We ride every Wednesday, meeting at about 10.30 and, after a pub lunch, arrive home mid afternoon. Our total membership is approx 140 with up to 70 riders (depending on the weather) turning out for the rides. We split into 5 different groups for our rides according to ability. This is not very strict and many riders go with the group that their friends are riding in, providing they can keep up. A feature of the club is that we cater for riders of all ages and ability. We even have half a dozen members with electric bikes
There are also smaller groups riding on Saturdays and Sundays.
In addition to our weekly rides, there are group holidays in the UK and Europe. This year a group of over 40 riders travelled to northern France for a 4 day break, another party had a week’s tour in Luxembourg with a smaller group having a long weekend in Somerset. We have timetabled for 2017 a trip to Belgium, with other ideas currently being discussed
We are a social club drawing members from Southeast London and West Kent.
