In recent months the procedure relating to cyclists wishing to use the Dartford Crossing has changed, the current procedure is shown below.

Cyclists are prohibited from using the A282 Dartford – Thurrock River Crossing, however there is a free-of-charge service to cyclists who wish to cross the river between Essex and Kent.

This service is available 7 days a week at specified times only.

These are
3am – 9am
10.30 – 2pm
3pm – 9pm
10.30 – 2am

This is a Free of Charge service to cyclists who wish to cross the QEII Bridge or use the Dartford Tunnel to travel between Kent and Essex.

Please report to the Essex Point (accessed via the dedicated cycleway adjacent to the M25/A282 clockwise Junction 31 entry slip road), or to
Kent Point (accessed from Crossing Offices roundabout, south orbital road DA1 5PR)

On arriving at either of these points use the yellow phone to request a pick-up. A suitably equipped vehicle will arrive to transport you, and your cycle, through the crossing.
