Using Ride with GPS

A valuable adjunct to both the Runs List and the Runs Library is the ability to plot a detailed route and append a link to the appropriate ride.

The most commonly used App used to create routes is Ride with GPS (RWGPS). Although the app can be loaded onto Smartphones, when plotting rides it is much easier to use the website at https://ridewithgps.com/ . You can register with a free account to create, save and export your routes (althogh you do need to be logged in).

A series of video guides have been produced by club members that show how the program can be used to plot a route. Once plotted, a link to the route can then be added to either the Runs Library or the Runs List. In addition a 'GPX' file can exported that can be used on Garmins / Smartphones with Komoot. There is a seperate guide to Komoot can be accessed here.
